This wheelset is built around Auren's own Single Speed HG High Engagement hub from the start, rather than lacing a generic hub to a generic rim — spoke count, drilling, and rim choice are matched to what the hub actually needs for a strong, balanced build.
A tubeless-ready trail rim with a 30mm internal width, wide enough to properly support a wider MTB tyre for grip and stability on hardtail and loaded off-road riding.
15x110 front and 12x148 rear Boost spacing widens hub flange spacing versus non-Boost standards, building a stiffer, stronger wheel — worth it on a hardtail that's going to see technical terrain or a loaded bikepacking setup.
Double-butted stainless steel spokes save weight in the straight section while keeping full strength at the elbows and threads, and brass nipples resist corrosion and hold tension reliably over time — a durability-first combination for off-road use.
Confirm your frame and fork use 15×110 Boost front / 12×148 Boost rear thru axle spacing before ordering. Want a different axle standard, hub, or rim (including a range of carbon options)? Reach out to Will for a custom build.
Tools needed: Thru-axle, single-speed cog and spacers, 39mm freehub lockring tool, torque wrench, 6-bolt rotors.
Fit your 6-bolt rotors to the front and rear hubs and torque to spec.
Install your single-speed cog on the HG freehub, using the included spacers to set chainline — flip an offset cog if you need extra adjustment.
Torque the freehub lockring to 40Nm with the 39mm tool.
Fit the wheels into your frame and fork and tighten the thru-axles to spec.
Check chain or belt line, confirm the rotors run true in the calipers, and bed in the brakes before riding.
