You start with a short questionnaire covering your riding history, goals, and any discomfort you're dealing with. Will then works through a biomechanical assessment using a fully adjustable fitting jig — not your existing bike on a trainer. The jig lets him find your ideal position without being constrained by whatever frame you've already got. You leave with your geometry documented: saddle height, reach, stack, cleat position, the lot.

No — and that's the point. The fitting jig is a purpose-built rig that replicates any bike geometry. You can bring your own bike if you'd like to assess its suitability and make adjustments according to the fit. If you're coming for a pre-purchase fit, leave your wallet at home too.

Yes. In fact, the riders who benefit most from a proper fit are often people who aren't training hard — because poor position compounds over a commute or a Sunday ride just as much as it does over 100 km. If your back aches after 45 minutes or you've never felt quite right on a bike, that's exactly what the fitting is designed to solve.

This is actually Will's preference. Most people buy the bike first and hope it works out. A pre-purchase fit gives you a specific geometry blueprint — saddle height, stack, reach — and Will can tell you which frames on the market match it. You spend $190 to avoid spending $4,000 on the wrong bike.

Standard fits run approximately 90 minutes. Advanced fits run around two hours. Come with time to spare — rushing the end of a fit defeats the purpose.

Mention it in the pre-session questionnaire so Will can prepare. The Advanced Fit includes a full movement and injury history assessment. If what you're dealing with is beyond the scope of a bike fit — an underlying structural issue, for example — Will will tell you honestly rather than fitting around a problem that needs treating elsewhere.

Will's workshop is in Preston. It's a home workshop, so the full address is confirmed once you've booked.

Yes, on request. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, but Will accommodates outside those where he can. Mention it when you book and he'll sort it.

The cost of your fit is credited in full if you decide to get an Auren bike.
