Width, rise, and sweep — built to your figure

Rather than a fixed stock width or bend, tell us your target width, rise, backsweep, and upsweep — from your current bar, a fitter's recommendation, or your own sense of what suits your riding — and we machine to those exact figures. This is the way to dial in a cockpit that off-the-shelf sizing can't always hit.

Why titanium for a handlebar

It takes the edge off trail chatter more than aluminium, transmitting less high-frequency vibration to your hands over a long ride, and it doesn't carry the fatigue-cracking risk that eventually ends an alloy bar's life. It also won't rust or corrode.

Sweep, explained

Backsweep angles the grips back toward you, easing wrist strain; upsweep angles them up slightly. More of either generally suits a more relaxed, upright riding position, less suits an aggressive, low front end. Tell us your riding style and we can suggest a starting point if you're not sure.

This is a made-to-order bar — if your stem uses a clamp size other than 31.8mm, or you’re not sure what width/rise/sweep suits you, get in touch or reach out to Will and we’ll confirm before the build starts.

Tools needed: torque wrench, hex/Allen keys to match your stem's clamp bolts, carbon assembly paste if your stem clamp is carbon or you want extra security.

1

Confirm your stem's clamp diameter matches 31.8mm before ordering.

2

Loosen the stem face-plate bolts and remove any existing bar.

3

Centre the new bar in the clamp, checking your sweep sits where expected for your riding position.

4

Start all face-plate bolts by hand to avoid cross-threading.

5

Tighten the face-plate bolts evenly in a cross pattern to the stem manufacturer's torque spec, keeping an even gap top and bottom.

6

Fit grips, brake levers, and shifters, then check bar rotation and lever reach before riding.

Auren designs and builds in Melbourne. One workshop, one builder, frames made by the person you can actually reach.

Every Auren titanium bike comes out of a simple idea. Founder and engineer Will Young wanted to build custom titanium the way it should be done: a frame shaped around the rider, not picked from a range. Your geometry, your parts, your bike, designed with you from the first conversation to the final build.

Building direct means there's no dealer between you and us. When you're planning a build, talking through your fit, or need something sorted years down the track, you talk to Will, the person who made the bike. Every Auren titanium is built to last decades and backed by real support that doesn't disappear after delivery.

That's reflected in our reviews: five stars across Google and Trustpilot.
