Material — Gr9 titanium with a Gr5 crown

The legs and steerer are Gr9 (3Al-2.5V) titanium for a blend of strength and compliance, while the crown — the highest-stress junction — is Gr5 (6Al-4V) for extra strength where it's needed most. For a fork you'll load up and take somewhere remote, titanium is hard to beat: it flexes just enough to take the edge off rough ground, it doesn't rust, and it doesn't crack the way carbon can after a knock. That combination of durability and compliance is exactly what an adventure fork needs.

Tyre clearance — 700x55C / 27.5x2.25

Huge clearance that lets one fork run two wheel setups — 700c with wide gravel rubber up to 55mm, or 27.5in at up to 2.25in for more float on rough terrain. That covers fast gravel through to loaded adventure and bikepacking. Leave margin for mud if you run the widest tyres.

Mounts & dynamo routing

A full suite of adventure and cargo mounts lets you carry fork-leg cages, bags and luggage where the ride needs it, and the internal dynamo routing keeps a dynamo light's wiring tidy and protected. It's built for carrying kit on long, self-supported days.

Cable routing — internal and hidden

The fork supports both internal routing (the hose enters at the top of the fork leg, simpler to service) and hidden routing (through the steerer, for the cleanest front end), so it suits whichever your frame and cockpit are built around.

Four things decide fit: frame geometry, steerer/headset, axle and brake.

Cable routing supports both internal and hidden. If you’re unsure the 400mm/50mm geometry suits your frame, check your frame maker’s recommended fork specs, see Auren’s forks guide, or get in touch before ordering.

Tools needed: torque wrench, hex/Allen keys, assembly grease (or carbon assembly paste if your stem/spacers are carbon), a hacksaw and saw guide if cutting the steerer, an expander/compression plug, and a crown race setting tool.

1

Confirm fit before fitting: 400mm axle-to-crown and 50mm offset suit your frame, your hub is 12x100, your caliper is flat mount, and your headset is tapered.

2

Measure the required steerer length (head tube + headset stack + spacers + stem) and mark it. Cut the 350mm steerer to length with a hacksaw and guide, then deburr; leave a few mm of spacer above the stem.

3

Set the crown race onto the fork, then install the fork through the head tube with the headset.

4

Fit an expander/compression plug that covers the full stem clamp area so the steerer is supported where the stem grips it.

5

Route the brake hose and any dynamo wiring for your chosen setup: internal enters at the fork-leg top; hidden enters through the steerer.

6

Fit the stem, set headset preload with the top cap, then torque the stem bolts to the stem manufacturer's spec.

7

Install the wheel and torque the 12x100 axle, fit the flat-mount caliper, then bed in the brakes.

Auren designs and builds in Melbourne. One workshop, one builder, frames made by the person you can actually reach.

Every Auren titanium bike comes out of a simple idea. Founder and engineer Will Young wanted to build custom titanium the way it should be done: a frame shaped around the rider, not picked from a range. Your geometry, your parts, your bike, designed with you from the first conversation to the final build.

Building direct means there's no dealer between you and us. When you're planning a build, talking through your fit, or need something sorted years down the track, you talk to Will, the person who made the bike. Every Auren titanium is built to last decades and backed by real support that doesn't disappear after delivery.

That's reflected in our reviews: five stars across Google and Trustpilot.
