The lowest-maintenance eBike

A bike that looks after itself.

Most eBikes come with a maintenance shopping list attached. The EV5 was engineered to need almost none of it.

105 km in Eco, 85 km in Sport and 60 km in Boost, based on a 70 kg rider on mixed terrain. For most commutes, that's a full working week on a single charge.

It feels like nothing, which is the point. The hub reads your cadence and speed and shifts for you before you'd even think to. Within two minutes of your first ride, you stop noticing it entirely.

Once a year covers most riders. Will handles it personally, or can guide you to a local mechanic. The belt and hub need almost no ongoing maintenance compared to a chain-drive bike.

The EV5 uses Samsung 500 Wh cells with a Grade A BMS, and the bike is EN15194 certified. The fires you've read about are almost always cheap, uncertified batteries. This is not one of those bikes.

Fair question. Read the Google reviews, all verified. Then email Will directly. You'll get a real reply. The two-week trial exists so you don't have to take our word for it.

Online, right here. Pick your colour and size, add any racks or a lock, and check out. Will is notified the moment your order comes through.

After you buy, we dispatch the bike. Your trial window opens two days after dispatch to allow for delivery, and you then have fourteen days to ride it: commuting, errands, weekends. If you keep it, nothing changes.

Contact Will within your two-week trial window and he'll arrange the return. The full conditions are in the trial terms.

Delivery is free anywhere in Australia, sent from our Preston workshop in Melbourne. We'll be in touch with delivery details after you order, and Will sorts out any logistics personally.

Barely. The EV5 arrives with the major assembly done. You fit the handlebar, pedals, front wheel and front mudguard, which needs no specialist tools or experience. The digital manual walks you through it, and Will is on hand if you get stuck.

Most eBikes are chain-driven and manually geared, so they bring all the maintenance of a regular bike plus a motor on top. The EV5 has a belt drive instead of a chain (no oil, no stretch, rated past 30,000 km) and a sealed automatic gearbox (no cables, no derailleur). Lights and mudguards come standard.

Three: Eco, Sport and Boost. Eco gives the most range (105 km), Boost gives the most help on hills (60 km of range), and Sport sits in between (85 km).

About two hours for a full charge with the included 42V charger for 36V battery (4A). It has built-in overcharge protection, so you can leave it plugged in.

Yes. The battery is integrated into the frame but removable, so you can lock the bike up and charge the battery indoors. Extra chargers and batteries are available.

Yes. The gearbox adjusts to the gradient on its own, and the Ananda R900's 50 Nm of torque gets you off the line cleanly and keeps you comfortable on climbs. Boost mode is there for the steep ones.

Yes. The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes stay confident in the wet, the alloy mudguards keep the spray off you, and the belt doesn't care about water the way a chain does.

The CST Convoy 700×38C tyres are stable on gravel and quick on sealed roads, and the frame clears tyres up to 700×45C if you want something chunkier.

20 kg, including the battery, lights and mudguards.

XS/S fits riders under 163 cm and M fits 163–183 cm; both are low standover, so they're easy to step through in everyday clothes. L fits 173–185 cm and XL fits 186 cm and up; both are regular standover. If you're between 173 and 183 cm, M and L both fit, so choose by how you like to get on and off.

Usually, yes. The slightly upright geometry is comfortable to share between riders of different builds without technical adjustment. Just raise or lower the seat.

Two: Sand and Sage. One model in two colours, finished properly. The money saved on endless variations goes into the components.

The bike with major assembly done, pedals, integrated front and rear lights, integrated front and rear mudguards, a 42V charger for 36V battery, two keys and a digital manual.

Yes. There's an EV5 front rack ($88, carries up to 15 kg), a rear pannier rack ($88) and a high-security folding lock ($70). Tick them in the order section above and they're added to your cart with the bike.

Yes. It's EN15194 certified and built to Australian eBike rules: a 250W motor with pedal assistance limited to 25 km/h.

Very little. The belt runs dry, the sealed gearbox needs no adjusting, the hydraulic brakes self-adjust as the pads wear, and the lights run off the main battery. What's left is checking tyre pressure, replacing brake pads when they wear out, and plugging in the charger.

In Melbourne, Will services it personally. Elsewhere in Australia, Auren has partner bike shops that can service the EV5, and most general bike shops can too: belt drives and sealed gearboxes are well understood by any good mechanic.

Auren is an Australian business, so Australian Consumer Law applies, not the limited, hard-to-enforce terms you often see from overseas brands. The full terms are on the warranty page.

The Michelin belt is rated past 30,000 km, which is years of heavy daily use. The Samsung battery keeps usable range for 5+ years under typical charging, and the Ananda R900 gearbox is a sealed unit built for long-term reliability.

Contact Will directly. There's no ticketing system, call centre or offshore queue: the person who built the bike is the person who answers. Outside Melbourne, he'll point you to the nearest partner shop for hands-on work.

Because most eBike ranges are full of variations that spread the budget thin without making the bike better. One model, built properly, with every dollar in the right component.

If you're in Melbourne, yes. Email Will at info@aurenbikes.com.au and he'll arrange a time. Anywhere else, the two-week trial lets you ride it at home before you decide.
