The EV5 is designed to need very little attention. The Michelin belt drive doesn't need oiling. The Ananda R900 gearbox doesn't need adjusting. The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes self-adjust as pads wear. The warranty exists for the 1% chance something fails that shouldn't — not as a caveat, but as a genuine guarantee that we'll sort it.

01

What's covered.

Manufacturing defects and component failures under normal use.

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for 2 years from the date of delivery.

Frame

Full 2-year coverage against structural failure, weld defects, and material faults. The hydroformed alloy frame is designed to be light, durable, and repairable. Structural failure under normal use is not expected — if it happens, we cover it.

Motor / Gearbox (Ananda R900)

Manufacturing defects, motor failure, electrical faults, and automatic shifting failure. The Ananda R900 is an integrated motor-gearbox unit — the 250W motor and internal automatic gearbox are a single sealed assembly. It's covered as a unit.

Battery (Samsung 36V 500Wh)

Cell degradation below 70% usable capacity within 2 years, BMS failure, and charging faults. The Samsung cells are premium-grade lithium-ion — meaningful degradation within 2 years would be unusual. The 70% threshold is a conservative floor.

Drivetrain (Michelin belt drive)

Belt failure and manufacturing defects in the crankset and bottom bracket. The Michelin belt is rated past 30,000km and runs dry — belt failure within 2 years of normal use would be a manufacturing issue, not wear.

Brakes (Shimano MT200)

Hydraulic caliper, lever, and hose failure from manufacturing defects. Brake pads are excluded as normal wear items.

Electrical system

Wiring, controller, connectors, and integrated front and rear LED lights. The lights run off the main battery — electrical failure in the system is covered.

Wheels and cockpit

Rim structural failure (not impact damage from crashes). Handlebars, stem, seatpost, and saddle are covered for manufacturing defects and structural failure.

When you make a claim, we: repair or replace the defective part at no cost · cover parts and labour through our partner bike shops nationally · provide a temporary replacement bike if repairs exceed 5 business days (Melbourne metro).

02

What's not covered.

Wear and tear, damage from misuse, and anything outside the bike's designed use.

Normal wear items

These parts degrade predictably with use. That's not a defect.

  • Brake pads
  • Tyres and tubes
  • Grips

Use outside designed purpose

The EV5 is designed for urban and inner-suburban commuting — sealed roads, bike paths, and light gravel. Warranty doesn't cover damage from:

  • Off-road trail riding, jumps, or rocky terrain
  • Multi-day loaded touring
  • Heavy cargo beyond rack capacity (20kg rear, 15kg front)
  • Commercial use — delivery, hire, or share schemes — without prior written agreement

Physical damage

  • Crashes, drops, and impact damage
  • Cosmetic damage (scratches, paint chips, scuffs) that doesn't affect function
  • Rust or corrosion from sustained exposure without basic care

Battery misuse

  • Damage from using a non-approved charger
  • Damage from leaving the battery fully discharged for an extended period
  • Natural degradation above the 70% capacity threshold

Modifications and third-party repairs

Warranty is void for any component affected by repairs or modifications made by anyone other than Auren or an Auren-approved service partner. If you want to make changes, ask us first — we'll tell you what's safe.

Not sure if something's covered? Email Will. We'd rather answer the question than have you second-guess.

03

How to make a claim.

Email or call. We'll tell you what happens next.

1

Get in touch

Email info@aurenbikes.com.au. Tell us what's wrong. A photo or short video helps if the issue is visible.

2

We assess

We'll usually know straight away whether it's a warranty issue. If we need to see the bike in person, we'll arrange that.

3

We fix it

Simple fix: We'll send the part and walk you through it, or direct you to the nearest partner shop. Complex fix: We arrange pickup, repair, and return — covered by warranty. Replacement needed: We send the part or, in rare cases, a replacement bike.

Most claims are resolved within 5 business days from first contact. We'll update you every 48 hours if repairs run longer. A replacement bike is available if you're in Melbourne metro and repairs are taking time.

What we need: proof of purchase (your order confirmation is fine), a clear description of the issue, and photos or video if the problem is visible. No forms. No ticket numbers. No chasing.

04

Additional terms.

Legal requirements, kept short.

Warranty period

2 years from delivery. The clock starts the day the bike arrives, not the day you ordered.

Transferability

The warranty transfers if you sell the bike, for the remainder of the original 2-year period. The new owner needs proof of your original purchase.

Battery degradation

Lithium-ion cells degrade gradually with charge cycles — this is expected. We cover capacity drop below 70% within 2 years. Above 70% is within normal range. Samsung premium cells typically retain capacity well above this threshold under normal use.

Weight limit

The EV5 is rated to a maximum of 120kg total — rider plus any cargo. Exceeding this limit voids the warranty for damage attributable to the overload.

Limitation of liability

This warranty covers the bike. It doesn't cover consequential costs like lost time, alternative transport, or injuries. Australian Consumer Law still applies — this warranty doesn't replace your statutory rights.

Australian Consumer Law

Auren is an Australian business. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) apply in full. Where anything in this warranty conflicts with the ACL, the ACL takes precedence.
