6V / 3W dynamo output

The PD-6 generates its own electricity as the wheel turns — 6V at 3W, the standard for bike dynamo systems. That runs a dynamo headlight and taillight indefinitely with no batteries to charge, and with a separate USB converter it can charge a phone, GPS, or battery pack on the move. It meets the German StVZO 6V3W regulation, so it works with the full range of dynamo lights and chargers on the market.

Boost 15x110mm, 6-bolt

This is SP's Boost-spec front dynamo hub, distinct from the 12x100mm Centerlock PL-7 — built for modern Boost thru-axle forks running 6-bolt disc rotors. Confirm your fork's axle and disc standard before ordering, since it isn't interchangeable with the PL-7's fitment.

Fork / axle

Fits forks with a 15mm thru-axle and 110mm spacing (Boost) — standard on many modern disc road, gravel, and MTB forks.
Does NOT fit quick-release (QR), 12mm thru-axle, or non-Boost 100mm OLD forks.

Brakes

6-bolt rotor mount — fits 6-bolt rotors directly.
Centerlock rotors work with a 6-bolt-to-Centerlock adapter (sold separately).
Not for rim-brake wheels.

Wheel build

Supplied as a bare hub — must be laced to a rim to build a wheel.
Fixed at 32H — match your rim’s hole count.
J-bend spokes.

Lights / charging

Works with any standard 6V/3W dynamo light (StVZO) — e.g. Busch & Müller, SON, Sinewave.
USB / device charging needs a dynamo-to-USB converter (e.g. Sinewave, kLite, Forumslader), sold separately.

Tools needed: matching 15mm thru-axle, 6-bolt rotor bolts and torque wrench, and your dynamo light or USB converter with its wiring. Lacing the hub into a wheel is a wheelbuilder job.

1

Build into a wheel. The PD-6 comes as a bare hub — have it laced to a compatible 32H rim with spokes before anything else. Auren can build the wheel for you if you'd rather not source a builder.

2

Fit the rotor. Mount a 6-bolt disc rotor and torque the bolts in a star pattern to the rotor maker's spec.

3

Fit the wheel. Slide the wheel into the fork's 15x110mm Boost thru-axle dropouts and torque to the fork manufacturer's spec.

4

Connect the light or charger. Attach the two spade connectors from your dynamo light or USB converter to the terminals on the hub, and route the cable up the fork leg with enough slack for steering.

5

Check it works. Lift the front wheel and spin it — the light should come on above walking pace. Confirm the rotor runs true in the caliper and the wiring is clear of the rotor and tyre.

SP Dynamo (officially Shutter Precision Co., Ltd.) is a Taiwanese manufacturing company specialising in lightweight, high-efficiency bicycle dynamo hubs and lighting systems.

Shutter Precision backs this product with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, honoured locally by Auren.

Auren designs and builds in Melbourne. One workshop, one builder, frames made by the person you can actually reach.

Every Auren titanium bike comes out of a simple idea. Founder and engineer Will Young wanted to build custom titanium the way it should be done: a frame shaped around the rider, not picked from a range. Your geometry, your parts, your bike, designed with you from the first conversation to the final build.

Building direct means there's no dealer between you and us. When you're planning a build, talking through your fit, or need something sorted years down the track, you talk to Will, the person who made the bike. Every Auren titanium is built to last decades and backed by real support that doesn't disappear after delivery.

That's reflected in our reviews: five stars across Google and Trustpilot.
