Universal standard

UDH replaced the old system of a different hanger for nearly every frame and brand with one common standard, so a replacement is easy to find and fit — no need to match it to a specific frame model.

Sacrificial by design

The hanger is built to bend or break before a derailleur strike or crash damages the frame or the derailleur itself — a $20-ish part failing is a far better outcome than a cracked dropout or a written-off derailleur.

Standard hanger-mount derailleursYes

Confirm your frame uses the UDH standard before ordering — most modern gravel and MTB frames do, but check if you’re unsure, especially on an older or non-UDH frame.

Tools needed: Hex key (size depends on your frame's hanger bolts)

1

Remove the derailleur from the old or damaged hanger.

2

Remove the mounting bolt(s) and take off the old hanger.

3

Fit the new UDH hanger and tighten the mounting bolt(s).

4

Reattach the derailleur and set torque to spec.

5

Check derailleur alignment and re-index gears before riding.

SRAM was founded in Chicago in 1987 and built its reputation on the original Grip Shift twist shifter, a genuinely new way to change gears that challenged Shimano's dominance of the drivetrain market. The company has since grown into one of the two major global groupset brands, and now also owns RockShox, Zipp, Truvativ, and several other component brands under one roof. SRAM was first to bring a dedicated 1x (single chainring) drivetrain to market, a format that has become close to standard on modern gravel and mountain bikes for its simplicity and reliability. Its current lineup spans mechanical and wireless AXS electronic groupsets across road, gravel, and mountain disciplines, alongside brakes, cranksets, and cassettes. On a gravel or adventure titanium build, SRAM is a common alternative to Shimano for riders who prefer its shift feel, want a wireless AXS setup, or are drawn to its 1x-first approach to gravel drivetrains.

Auren designs and builds in Melbourne. One workshop, one builder, frames made by the person you can actually reach.

Every Auren titanium bike comes out of a simple idea. Founder and engineer Will Young wanted to build custom titanium the way it should be done: a frame shaped around the rider, not picked from a range. Your geometry, your parts, your bike, designed with you from the first conversation to the final build.

Building direct means there's no dealer between you and us. When you're planning a build, talking through your fit, or need something sorted years down the track, you talk to Will, the person who made the bike. Every Auren titanium is built to last decades and backed by real support that doesn't disappear after delivery.

That's reflected in our reviews: five stars across Google and Trustpilot.
