Have a question before you buy?
Titanium flexes just enough to absorb high-frequency road and trail buzz before it reaches the saddle, which adds genuine comfort and compliance over long or rough rides — without a suspension part to maintain. It's also highly fatigue-resistant and won't rust or corrode, so the post holds up for the long term where alloy eventually tires and carbon can crack after a knock.
Setback is how far the saddle clamp sits behind the centre of the post, and it changes your fit. 0mm (inline) brings the saddle forward, suiting steeper positions or riders who want their weight further over the bottom bracket. 20mm setback moves the saddle rearward for a more classic road fit and a more open hip angle. Choose the one that matches your bike fit rather than fighting your position with saddle rail adjustment alone.
The post comes in 27.2, 30.9 and 31.6mm to match common seat tube sizes, 350mm length. Pick the diameter that matches your frame's seat tube exactly. The post can be cut down to reduce length if required.
Three things decide fit: seat tube diameter, the setback your fit needs, and length.
Match the post exactly to your frame’s seat tube inner diameter. If your frame is a larger size, some frames run a smaller post with a shim — check your frame spec.
Can be cut down to reduce length; keep enough post to stay past your frame’s minimum insertion mark.
Saddle rails: designed for standard saddle rails. If your saddle uses oval or oversized carbon rails, confirm the clamp suits them or get in touch before ordering.
Tools needed: hex/Allen keys to suit the post's saddle-clamp bolts, a torque wrench, assembly grease (or carbon assembly paste if your frame is carbon), and a hacksaw with a saw guide only if you're cutting the post to length.
If you need to shorten the post, measure carefully, cut to length with a hacksaw and guide, then deburr the edge — leave enough length to stay past your frame's minimum insertion mark.
Apply a thin film of assembly grease to the section of post that sits inside the seat tube to prevent seizing and creaks; use carbon assembly paste instead if your frame is carbon.
Slide the post into the seat tube, set your saddle height, and keep the post above the frame's minimum insertion mark.
Mount the saddle in the clamp and set fore/aft position and tilt.
Tighten the frame's seat collar and the saddle-clamp bolts evenly to their torque specs; don't over-tighten, especially on a carbon frame or carbon saddle rails.
Auren designs and builds in Melbourne. One workshop, one builder, frames made by the person you can actually reach.
Every Auren titanium bike comes out of a simple idea. Founder and engineer Will Young wanted to build custom titanium the way it should be done: a frame shaped around the rider, not picked from a range. Your geometry, your parts, your bike, designed with you from the first conversation to the final build.
Building direct means there's no dealer between you and us. When you're planning a build, talking through your fit, or need something sorted years down the track, you talk to Will, the person who made the bike. Every Auren titanium is built to last decades and backed by real support that doesn't disappear after delivery.
That's reflected in our reviews: five stars across Google and Trustpilot.
