Pinion gearboxes need their own specific lubricant, not generic gear oil — this kit is the correct oil at the correct 60ml volume for a complete change, so there's no guessing on quantity or compatibility.
A gearbox oil change is the one regular maintenance item a Pinion drivetrain needs. Staying on the 10,000km interval keeps shifting smooth and protects the gearbox internals over the long run — the tradeoff for the low day-to-day maintenance a sealed gearbox otherwise gives you.
One 60ml kit is enough for one full oil change. If you’re unsure which gearbox you have, check the model stamped on the gearbox housing or ask Will.
Tools needed: Hex key to open the gearbox oil ports, a container to catch the old oil, funnel (recommended).
Warm the gearbox slightly (a short ride) so the old oil drains more completely.
Remove the drain plug and let the old oil fully drain into a container.
Refit the drain plug.
Remove the fill plug and add the fresh 60ml of oil.
Refit the fill plug and check both plugs are seated correctly.
Take a short ride and check for leaks at both plugs before your next real ride.
