Tubeless-ready (TLR)

Set up with sealant and run without a tube, TLR construction lets you run lower pressures for better grip and comfort while cutting the risk of pinch flats — a genuine upgrade for gravel and mixed-surface riding over a standard clincher setup.

TerraTrail tread pattern

A low-profile centre tread keeps rolling resistance down on hardpack and gravel roads, while the shoulder knobs step up and bite when the surface loosens or the trail turns into light singletrack — a tread built for mixed conditions rather than one specific surface.

700x40 sizing

A versatile gravel width — wide enough for comfort and traction on loose surfaces and loaded touring, without the extra weight and rolling resistance of a wider all-terrain tyre.

SetupWhat you need
RimTubeless-ready rim recommended for TLR setup; can also be run with a tube on a standard rim
ClearanceFrame/fork must clear a 700x40 tyre — confirm with your frame's tyre clearance spec
SealantRequired for tubeless setup, not included

Check your frame and fork’s tyre clearance before ordering — 40mm needs slightly more room than a typical road or narrow gravel tyre.

Tools needed: Tyre levers (if needed), tubeless valve, sealant, floor pump or compressor for seating.

1

Fit the tubeless valve to the rim if not already installed.

2

Mount one side of the tyre onto the rim.

3

Add the recommended amount of sealant, then mount the second side of the tyre.

4

Seat the tyre bead with a floor pump or compressor — a sudden burst of air seats it cleanly.

5

Inflate to riding pressure and check the bead is seated evenly all the way round.

6

Spin the wheel and rock it side to side to distribute sealant, then check for leaks before riding.

Continental is a German tyre manufacturer, part of Continental AG, one of the world's largest tyre and automotive technology companies, founded in 1871. Their bicycle tyre range spans road, gravel, MTB, and touring lines, including the TerraTrail — a gravel-focused tubeless-ready tread built for mixed terrain. Auren stocks select Continental tyres to pair with its custom titanium builds.

Auren designs and builds in Melbourne. One workshop, one builder, frames made by the person you can actually reach.

Every Auren titanium bike comes out of a simple idea. Founder and engineer Will Young wanted to build custom titanium the way it should be done: a frame shaped around the rider, not picked from a range. Your geometry, your parts, your bike, designed with you from the first conversation to the final build.

Building direct means there's no dealer between you and us. When you're planning a build, talking through your fit, or need something sorted years down the track, you talk to Will, the person who made the bike. Every Auren titanium is built to last decades and backed by real support that doesn't disappear after delivery.

That's reflected in our reviews: five stars across Google and Trustpilot.
