Elastomer suspension

A single pivot point at the post's head allows limited vertical movement, cushioned by interchangeable elastomer inserts rather than an air or coil spring. That keeps the mechanism simple, light, and low-maintenance compared to a full suspension seatpost.

Tunable stiffness

Elastomers come in different durometers (firmness ratings) that you can swap yourself, so the post can be tuned to your body weight, riding style, and terrain rather than running one fixed setting for everyone.

Frame stiffness stays intact

Because the travel is localised to the post itself rather than the frame, a titanium frame's overall stiffness and handling character stay largely unaffected — this is about smoothing high-frequency vibration and small impacts, not adding true suspension travel.

Frame

Choose 27.2mm or 31.6mm to match your frame’s seat tube diameter — this is not adjustable after purchase, so confirm your frame’s spec before ordering.
Compatible with standard round seat tubes; not for aero/proprietary seatpost shapes.

Saddle

Uses a standard saddle clamp, compatible with almost any saddle running round or oval rails.

Tools needed: Allen key, torque wrench, grease or carbon assembly paste (frame-dependent).

1

Confirm diameter. Check your frame's seat tube takes 27.2mm or 31.6mm before ordering — the two sizes aren't interchangeable.

2

Remove your old post. Loosen the frame's seatpost clamp and remove your current seatpost, noting your saddle height.

3

Prep and insert. Grease (or use carbon paste, if your frame is carbon) and insert the ShockStop post to your previous saddle height.

4

Fit the saddle. Clamp your saddle to the post's head and set saddle angle and fore/aft position.

5

Torque the clamp. Tighten the frame's seatpost clamp to its stated torque spec — not the post's own elastomer mechanism.

6

Tune the elastomers. Ride it, then swap to a softer or firmer elastomer if the feel isn't right for your weight and terrain.

Redshift Sports is a US component brand founded in 2013 in Philadelphia, growing out of a successful Kickstarter campaign for its original Switch Aero System. The company is run by engineers who are also serious cyclists, and its products are built around solving specific, real rider problems rather than chasing trends. Its best-known line is the ShockStop suspension stem and seatpost, which use interchangeable elastomers to smooth out vibration and impact on rough terrain without adding a heavy, complex suspension system. The range has grown to include ergonomic handlebar systems, clip-on aero bars, and the Arclight pedal-and-light system for visibility. On a gravel or adventure build, Redshift components are a common addition for riders wanting more comfort and control over long, rough days in the saddle without moving to a fully suspended bike.

Auren designs and builds in Melbourne. One workshop, one builder, frames made by the person you can actually reach.

Every Auren titanium bike comes out of a simple idea. Founder and engineer Will Young wanted to build custom titanium the way it should be done: a frame shaped around the rider, not picked from a range. Your geometry, your parts, your bike, designed with you from the first conversation to the final build.

Building direct means there's no dealer between you and us. When you're planning a build, talking through your fit, or need something sorted years down the track, you talk to Will, the person who made the bike. Every Auren titanium is built to last decades and backed by real support that doesn't disappear after delivery.

That's reflected in our reviews: five stars across Google and Trustpilot.
